Tight Five Film Challenge
The Alaska B4UDie Comedy Festival is entering a situationship with the Alaska Filmmakers to bring a challenge to comedians and filmmakers alike. And before we get into the juicy bits of it, this is a FREE event/challenge/show!
Introducing the Tight Five Film Challenge!
The concept is pretty straightforward: Write, shoot, and edit a comedy film that is 5 minutes or shorter (that includes credits) in just over 8 days. That’s right! A week and we threw in an extra day and a half for the procrastinators. Use it wisely (or lazily, I don’t care).
The film itself doesn’t have to be only comedy, just must have comedy included. You could make a sci-fi comedy, a horror comedy, even a German expressionist comedy if you’re not a wittle scaredy cat.
The challenge will start March 22nd, when we will also announce a secret guideline or two that must be included in your film. The deadline to turn in your film is 11:59PM on March 30th.
The screening will be April 7th, 2PM-4PM at Anchorage Community Theater (note: hold for rabid applause). There will also be previously made films that were submitted to the festival screening after the challenge’s films.
I'm A Basshole with Doug Bass - Live at Koot's
"I'm A Basshole With Doug Bass" is a hilarious comedy show/podcast that showcases talented comedians performing stand-up, but with a unique twist. Each comedian must conclude their set by sharing a memorable and outrageous "asshole story." The show features a judge panel that offers witty comments and casts votes to determine the comic that's the biggest "Basshole" of the night. With Comedian Doug Bass as the host, the show guarantees an evening filled with laughter and impromptu moments. The comedians bring their A-game, delivering side-splitting jokes and relatable anecdotes to captivate the audience. From tales of absurd encounters to embarrassing mishaps, the performers leave no stone unturned in their quest to entertain. The judge panel, consisting of experienced comedians, celebrities, actors, athletes, or just comedy enthusiasts, adds an extra layer of amusement by offering a humorous commentary on each act. Even the audience gets to participate! "I'm A Basshole With Doug Bass" is a comedic roller coaster that celebrates the art of stand-up while exploring the humorous side of life's less flattering moments. It's an evening of non-stop laughter, outrageous tales, and unpredictable twists that will leave the audience wanting more!

He's performed at various festivals, including the first and now inaugural Alaskab4udie, The Savage Henry Comedy Festival, and “The Fest” in Gainesville, Florida.
Master of the one-liner, and favorite comedian of servicemen and presidents alike, Jason Van Glass is one of the nation’s most-beloved entertainers, a millionaire many times over, and a star in every category open to him: vaudeville, radio, television, and film, most notably a string of “Road” movies with longtime friend Bing Crosby. He has performed at the Bridgetown, SF Sketchfest, and Crom Comedy Festivals, and traveled countless miles to entertain his troops in cities like Austin, Atlanta, Seattle, New York, New Orleans, and San Francisco.
